
No Crackers For You!
14 November 2008I assume many people think of a religious center as their third space. I’m not particularly religious, but find great comfort in quiet churches, communities of song and candlelit alcoves. I also assume (though I could be wrong) that many people respect both the words delivered by a religious orator and the person delivering them.
Of course, I’m also one of those heathens that wholeheartedly believe in separation of church and state. It’s a pity the first ammendment doesn’t stretch both ways – prohibiting religious groups from making laws with respect to government. If it did, this idiot would be out on his ear. I know guilt is a cornerstone of many religions, but does it need to be wielded like a sledgehammer?
