Benedict XVI

ooooh what do I win for guessing the papal name?

On a less light note, it doesn’t look good for gays and lesbians in the Catholic church and, by extension, the rest of us who live in a world that takes their cues from religion. In 1986, Pope Benedict was somewhat vocal (more than I think he needed to be) in a letter to the populace noting that being queer was a tendancy toward “intrinsic moral evil”. Go, Pope. Let’s hope politics and reality have softened him somewhat.

Bonus points if you, too, knew the Pope would pick Benedict.
