Snow Keeps Away the Criminals

Posted: 5 December 2007 in observations

I’m cozy in my house today.  I’m working hard of course (and the work never seems to end) but this chair is comfy and I’m almost warm enough in D’s sweatshirt.  I probably am warm enough, but the sugar-coated outside is making me just a bit chilly.

We got the first proper snow of the season today.  It’ll be gone tomorrow and certainly by the weekend as things warm back up, but today the air is crystalline and still and everything is covered in a frozen layer of white.  The cold has kept the photographers away even.

Oh, you didn’t know about the traditional holiday hijinks around here?  Oh yes, every holiday brings something unique.  A few years ago, for example, it was a dec 24th search for a deadbolt to keep out the maintenance man pushing porn.  It’s in the backlist somewhere, if you nose around.  This year it’s apparently random strangers taking pictures of the front of the townhouse, strange van screeching away when we come home and general ominous lurking.   Are they robbers?  Private detectives?  Plotters?  Fans?

I know you’re worried, but I’ll keep you posted – never fear!

Points if you are the hidden paparazzi…

That sounds scary! I’m paranoid enough on my own. If I had people lurking around like that I would never go home. OH! Or MAYBE they’re scouting for a home makeover show! You’re gonna get to meet Evan on WYWO! Now I’m jealous 🙂

this winter is apparently making up for lost time…we’ve had three inches, plus freezing rain, a high of no more than 30 degrees, and expect more freezing rain over the weekend. it’s fun!

(but not as fun as secret paparazzi. you’re lucky, you are.)
